Participating in select baseball provides a unique opportunity for young baseball players to learn, play, experience, and compete at a higher level than traditionally found in most recreational baseball leagues or organizations.
Choosing to participate in the Razorbacks Select Youth Baseball program is an individual choice based on a "by invitation" selection process. Players and their families should be prepared for the commitments, demands, and consequences imposed at a select baseball level before deciding to accept the opportunity to play within the Razorbacks Program. To better determine if the Razorbacks Youth Baseball Program is appropriate for you and your baseball player, we've provided expectations for future and existing Razorback players and their parents.
Player and Roster Selection Process
- Razorback Players are selected to participate through a selection process used to evaluate the possiblity of placement on a team roster based on several factors including, but not limited to, mental readiness, sportsmanship, and physcial skills or abilities. The Razorbacks General Management, Team Managers, and Coaching Staff hold the right to make available any specified number of roster positions based on the needs and goals of the teams. No guaranteed number of players will be offered or selected, and an invitation to roster does not guarantee any specified defensive fielding position, spot in the batting order, or amount of playing time.
Invitations to roster will be presented no later than 72 hours of scheduled tryout date. Players selected for roster positions have 24 hours to accept the invitation to roster. Once expired, the Razorbacks selection process will continue without guarantee of roster position. The Razorbacks Select Youth Baseball Program may deny participation to any player at anytime without providing reason.
Once an inviation to roster is accepted, this is a clear acknoweldgement of these terms to participate in the Razorbacks Select Youth Baseball Program by practicing, playing, and attending all posted and scheduled events. Failure to do so may result in diminished playing time, or ultimately, the removal from the team's roster.
Once a player has accepted the invitation to roster, announced payment milestones must be met by providing the Participation Down Payment within 7 days of exceptance of the roster invitation. Monthly payments are due on the 5th of each month. Payment of participation fees does not guarantee or specify a period of playing time. Team selection and playing time will be determined by a player’s merit, determined by the team manager and coaching staff for the best success of the team.
Existing players may be required to tryout for reevaluation of a roster position if determined necessary by the Team Manager or General Manager. All roster invitations must be approved and endorsed by the Razorbacks Select Youth Baseball Program General Manager, and all decisions are final.
Participation Commitments
- Once accepting a roster invitation, each Razorback player is expected to arive on-time and participate in all Razorback scheduled practices, games, tournaments, or events. The Team Manager or a Coach must be notified in advance if a player is not able to participate at a scheduled time or date.
Baseball is a sport and good sportsmanship and citzenship will be offered at all times win, lose, or indifferent.
Team Managers, Coaches, and Private Instructors will respect and treat each player as they would want to be treated, always remembering that children and yound adults are being mentored. Razorback Team Managers, Players, Coaches, and Parents will act in a mature, professional, and repsectful manner at all Razorbacks events.
Repeated offenses may result in the removal from the team roster.
We definitely support kids playing more baseball, especially if they
are representing their local communities, but rostered Razorback
players may not participate with any other select baseball team while
rostered by the Razorbacks Select Youth Baseball Program for any
reason. Participation in local recreational leagues is allowed, but
Razorbacks scheduled practices, games, and activites are expected as
precedence. We will not manage roster changes or schedule conflicts
influenced by recreation baseball related obligations or pitching
limitations.
Parent & Guardian Expectations
- All parent concerns not limited to, but including, a player's team selection, playing time, or positions played, will be directed to the Player Agent, not to the team manager or coaching staff. Any such issues communicated by a parent to a manager or coach during game play will be considered an infraction and may result in the immediate removal of a player from the team's roster.
- Players are on the schedules and under the decisions and directions of the team manager and coaches during practices and game times. All players will bring and manage their own personal effects prior to entering the dugout in all practices and games.
- No parent will be allowed in the dugout or on the field at anytime during practice or game time unless directly requested by a Team Manager or Coach. Although we understand it to be a difficult task while cheering the team on, we ask that parents and fans do not coach or assist players from the stands at anytime. The coaches and players are working together during play time and may get mixed signals from outside influences.
Uniform & Jersey Ownership and Accountabilty
- Each Razorback Player will be provided, but not limited to, a game and practice jersey set to be used during tournaments, games, or practices. Each player will be responsible for acquiring the remaining items necessary to complete the uniform as specified.
Each player must return the game jerseys to the Razorbacks Select Youth Baseball Program at the official end of each season in a playable condition or provided a replacement fee for the items.
